Module content | This module offers an introduction to various legal aspects relating to the contemporary challenges of persons with disabilities as a multi-and interdisciplinary field of study. A capita selecta of topics include different legal issues pertinent to the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities in South Africa, the social construct of disability, the relevance of international human rights and the CRPD (and its Protocol), and the interplay between the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the rights discourse. |
